Decision-Driven Analytics

I co-authored Decision-Driven Analytics with Stefano Puntoni to address a problem we saw repeatedly in practice: many analytics efforts fail because data analyses are disconnected from the decisions they are meant to inform.

Drawing on our research, our teaching, and real-world business cases, we introduce a new approach we call decision-driven analytics. Counterintuitively, we argue that the key to making good decisions with data is to begin by putting data in the background—focusing first on the decision to be made and the business context.

The book outlines the four pillars of decision-driven analytics and provides practical guidance to help organizations avoid common pitfalls, align analytics with strategy, and achieve measurable impact.

Decision-Driven Analytics is written for anyone who wants to harness the power of data for competitive advantage. It will equip you with the tools to use data more effectively for stronger business outcomes and better decisions in today’s complex, data-rich world.
